This post is a long time coming! I talked about the tedious process of choosing a white paint color here. But…I never followed up with how our home actually looks after the job was completed! This is a top question I get in my emails from people who find that post on Pinterest, so here you go! I highly recommend going to read the first post and then come back here to see all the photos of the final look. Here is how to use Sherwin Williams Oyster White as an Exterior Paint Color. I wish this kind of post existed when I was doing all of my exhaustive research!
I thought it might be kind of fun to show the house color throughout the seasons. Our home faces south, so it can look different at all times of day and times of year. We have also put a new roof on our home since it was painted and you can find those details here. Even though many homes have now popped up with white paint in our neighborhood and on our street, I still love these choices and would choose them all over again today!
Before and During the Painting
Painting the exterior takes a few days with the prep and actual painting. The hardest part of the whole process is coming up with paint color! We went from three colors (main, accent, trim) down to two colors (main and accent).
What Colors are the Exterior of Your Home?
Main: Sherwin Williams Oyster White
Accent: Benjamin Moore Graphite
Our Home in the Spring
Here are the colors with bright blue skies and sun shining down.
Our Home in the Summer
Obviously, I feel like our home looks the best when it can be accented with landscaping and a lush green lawn! But black and white is so classic, it really looks good all year long. I’m also big into decorating my porch for the seasons, so the neutral backdrop of the paint colors works all year too.
Our Home in Fall
Here it is with fall/Halloween decor (my favorite)! The skies are muted here for a good color representation.
Our Home in the Winter
I wanted to share some photos of our home against pure white snow so you can see that it is a really warm white vs stark white. You can find the post about hanging a wreath on every window here.
Thanks for stopping by to check out our exterior painted Sherwin Williams Oyster White. This paint color came on my radar because my sister’s neighbor and friend painted her home this color. I was able to see it in person, which was so important for me as a visual person. Grateful she shared her color with me and inspired this choice! XO
