Like most of you with littles, my home is constantly being inundated with artwork, certificates, drawings, and projects. I just love ages 3 and 4 and all that comes with it, including the adorable “art”. I’ve never been a huge saver, only saving one or two things from each year of preschool, but I do love to enjoy their work for a little while. Love my kids, don’t love clutter! Ultimately, I decided to come up with a way I could enjoy the artwork for a little while and quickly change it out as new items come home. Here’s how to create a kid’s artwork display system in your home using very simple items.
Location of the Artwork Display
Our mudroom felt like the perfect place for this art wall. We use this room so often and it seemed suited for “kid stuff” since we already have little shoes and little backpacks and little sweatshirts hanging from all of the hooks.
Essentially you need some wall space that has trim on both sides. It doesn’t matter how large. In our case, we had two spaces there it would work.
Items Needed
The display system includes only two items, tension curtain rods and curtain clips. This artwork display system is inexpensive and takes about 2 minutes to set up. For reference, the large door on the right is off the garage, and the door on the left is to the bathroom.
I purchased the black tension rods at Hobby Lobby. They were less than $4 each, and I bought them all when they were half off. I already had the curtains clips, also from Hobby Lobby. The total for this art display cost me less than $10!
How to Assemble the Art Display System
Slide the curtain clips on the tension rod and add the tension rod between doors/trim. Keep turning the tension rod until it feels secure against the doors.
Start clipping your child’s artwork and enjoy!
The reality is that we currently have small kids, and I love the whimsy the artwork brings to the space. And the kids absolutely love having a place to display their masterpieces!! You can’t beat $10 personalized art wall! XO

I love having the kids' art on display and this is such a great idea for an art gallery!! Love this idea! Especially because there are no nails to hang or nail holes if you take them down!
Looks great! I have a similar system, not for my children’s artwork, but for hanging some of my scrapbooking supplies. 🙂
I have seen this before and LOVE the idea. I can’t wait to do it in my studio (when I get one)lol. So great for anything you want to hang! Found you throuh a blog hop and am now a follower!
This is such a wonderful idea!! I have so much artwork that needs to be displayed, but I keep putting it off because I haven’t figured out how I want to display it in our home yet. I think I know exactly where I'm going to use this idea!! Can’t wait to give it a try.
SUPER CUTE! Crossing my fingers you'll share at my party! Saturdays at Seven!

This is so cute. Tension rods! Great idea. I have not seen shower curtain rings that have clips like that – I will have to keep a look out. BTW, love your doors!
