Every time I share these burger bowls on stories, I have people asking for the recipe. This is hardly a recipe and more of an assembly of ingredients, but I thought I would share how I make mine! I’m literally addicted to these burger bowls and eat them for lunch often. My teenage son likes to reheat the meat and potatoes for breakfast or dinner. And we have also used the meat and potatoes in the morning with eggs to make an egg scramble bowl. These are easy to make a customize. Here’s how to make burger bowls at home.
Making Roasted Potatoes
The base of the burger bowl is roasted potatoes and ground beef. For the potatoes, I dice up small chunks and season them with olive oil, salt, pepper, and garlic salt. You can use whatever kind of potatoes you like! Sometimes I use Russet potatoes and sometimes I use yellow gold. Basically, whatever I have on hand. Stir this up and place on a baking sheet. I cook mine at 425 degrees for about 25-30 minutes or until they are soft. The smaller you dice, the faster they go.
Heating the Meat
Depending on how many people will be eating is how much ground beef I make. If I’m just making for myself of lunch, I use one pound and use about 1/3 of it. I season my meat with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Big garlic girl here! Drain any grease from the pan if you have a lot. I usually get my organic, grass-fed ground beef from Aldi or Walmart because they have good prices.
Burger Toppings
Once your meat and potatoes are done, you can start assembling! I like to put red onion, chopped lettuce, cheese, and burger sauce on my burger bowls. This is where you can go crazy with whatever you like! Think jalepenos, pickles, tomato, mushrooms, bacon, etc! Making bowls of any kind is so great because everyone can customize to their liking.
Burger Sauce
This stuff is so delicious! I’m not even a condiment person, but this is what makes these burger bowls in my opinion! Having some sort of sauce is good to keep the bowls from becoming too dry tasting. Obviously, think ketchup, mustard, mayo here if that is what you usually like on your burger. I have found this at Walmart.
That is literally it! Easy, right? I could eat these a few times a week! Perfect for and easy dinner or lunch. Make extra for leftovers! XO
