It’s such a busy and fun time of year! With October nearing, I’m trying to get in the fall swing of things despite daytime temperatures in the 80s still. Every Friday before a home game, we attend a tailgate before the high school football game. Go Jags! I thought I would be festive this past week and bring a fall treat to share. Candy corn is kind of a controversial candy, right? Love them or hate them? I’m not a huge fan, but will eat in this form! This treat is so easy to make. Here’s how to make candy corn pretzel bites. *I originally created this post this in October 2012, and just updated with new photos.*
This is not a new recipe and there are so many variations. And to be honest, it’s hard to call this a recipe -ha! I’ve made these often with M&Ms to match Valentine’s Day, Chiefs colors, etc. The concept is the same, these just have candy corn on top. The brown and white Hershey Hug with the orange and yellow candy corn is so festive! These come together easily on a low temperature oven in a few minutes. The hardest part of the whole thing is unwrapping the Hugs!
Candy Corn Pretzel Bites
Ingredients:
- Hershey’s Hugs
- Pretzel squares
- Candy Corn
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 215 degrees.
- Lay out pretzels on an ungreased cookie sheet and top with Hersey Hugs.
- Bake pretzel and Hugs for about 5 minutes or until Hug appears shiny.
- Remove from oven and immediately place candy corn piece on top of the Hug.
- Chill in the refrigerator (or freezer if in a hurry) until hardened (we leave them right on the cookie sheet).
- Remove from fridge and let get to room temperature (they are easier to remove if you wait a little bit). Lift off by twisting a little bit or using a small spatula.
I told you these could not be easier! Perfect for tailgates, Halloween parties, fall festivals, etc! There is something about candy corn that is nostalgic with a limited amount of time to eat them. People will be happy to snack on these, trust me! Along with the candy corn pretzel bites, I made these pickle roll ups to take to the tailgate. We are a football family, so these trays get used often for sharing food!
If you have any leftovers, pop in the fridge and give to your kids in their lunches! The possibilities are endless with what you could put on top of the pretzel and Hug, so it’s perfectly acceptable to get creative and use whatever you love. Happy fall! XO

BTW – where did you find the caramel candy corn?
Glad you liked them! I actually couldn't find regular candy corn at Walmart, so I ended up getting both kinds at Walgreens!
