How to Style Countertops Next to the Stove

I just finished cleaning up the area around our stove so I took some photos to share you how to style countertops next to the stove area for beauty and function. This is what works for us and our space. I cook a lot, so I wanted to have certain things at my fingertips. However, I don’t love countertop clutter, so this is a tricky balance!

Mostly, I just want everything in our kitchen (and our home in general) to be both beautiful and functional. I’ll be linking everything I can in this post. The best part about this is that nothing has really changed, which lets me know I have chosen classic pieces that I won’t tire of. This also means it’s working functionally for me and my family!

Containing Everyday Items

I’m left handed and I’m the cook in the family, so I wanted these everyday items on the left side. I never really noticed that I did this until I was looking at the photos. 🙂

Cutting Board: Large cutting boards are perfect for adding warmth and texture and natural elements to a kitchen. In this case, the wood breaks up all of the white and it hides the electrical outlet.

Marble Tray: If you have been following on Instagram or reading the blog for a while, you know my love for containing things! This large marble tray is not only beautiful and classic, but it helps keep everything together. You could also use a large marble or wooden cutting board if you can’t find a tray. It serves the same purpose.

Mini Lamp: We have three of these mini lamps in our kitchen area and I just love them. They are perfect for kitchens and bathrooms. I turn all of them on every single morning. This lamp adds warmth to this little area and the touch of black is perfect. The plug is behind the cutting board and I simply shove the cord behind it too.

Marble Utensil Holder + Utensils: Used every single day! I love the classic simplicity of the marble holder and the wooden and black utensils. All other utensils are in the drawer directly below. I like to keep beautiful items displayed and the other ones tucked away.

Garlic: I use garlic often while cooking. It’s small enough to store in a pretty bowl.

Olive Oil/Butter/Salt + Pepper: I use these items every single day. Having them handy is so helpful. Yes, we keep a stick of butter at room temperature out and our S+P uncovered! Never had a single issue!

The Other Side of the Stove Area: Function + Beauty

On the right side of the stove I have layered two more cutting boards. I don’t use them for function, just something to draw your eye in. The black and wood tones work well together. They provide color, texture, function, and they aren’t in my way at all. I love the round shape of the black one and the organic shape of the wood one.

The clear acrylic stand is for my phone. When I cook, I often look at my phone for recipes and I can usually be found with my headphones in listening to a podcast. This helps keep my phone secure when I use it. Because it’s acrylic it kind of just goes away visually.

The black marble cross is actually a trivet that I use as a spoon rest. I love black touches in a space. This one is large rouge that I can rest two spoons here while cooking. And when I’m not cooking, it looks beautiful and timeless!

Stove Details

We have had this gas stove since April 2022. I’m loving it! It has an air fryer setting and a fifth burner, which is different than what I had before. I also love that it has storage drawer below so I can store a few cooking pans. This stove came highly recommend and it has excellent reviews!

I hope this post helps you figure out how to style countertops next to the stove area for beauty and function. Keeping everything neutral, adding natural elements, layering, and using things you find to be beautiful help the space from feeling cluttered!

You can’t see in this photo, but I do keep our air fryer out to the left of the marble tray area. We use it a lot and it’s heavy and bulky. I also keep flour and sugar out on the countertop. We use these items often and it’s too much of a hassle to grab them from somewhere else. Keeping them in glass storage containers help make them “go away”. Thanks for reading! XO
