My daughter, Kate, is the baker in our family! She loves to whip up desserts for us. A few years ago she made some S’mores cookies she had seen online. They were so good! She recently made them again and I wanted to share. These are simple to pull together (you could even use store bought cookie dough) and they make a statement because they are huge! Such a fun treat to make for an event or to give to neighbors or keep for yourself. Here is how to make S’mores cookies.
How to Make S’mores Cookies
Ingredients
- Chocolate chip cookie dough we used homemade but you could use store-bought
- Graham crackers
- Large Marshmallows
- Chocolate chunks we used Hershey’s
Notes
-
- Prepare your favorite chocolate chip cookie dough. If you are short on time, you can purchase store bought chocolate chip cookie dough.
- Lay out s’mores ingredients on a baking sheet. Be sure to leave adequate space in between because they will get large.
- Grab a scoop of cookie dough and start to flatten it with your hand. Carefully lay on top of the s’mores ingredients. My daughter said to place them “like a blanket”. The amount doesn’t have to be perfect, just enough to cover the s’mores.
- Bake cookies according to your cookie dough instructions. I think our homemade recipe called for 375 degrees for about 10 minutes. Be sure to watch the first batch so the graham cracker doesn’t burn.
- These taste best warm and right out of the oven! After they have cooled, you can microwave them for 10-20 seconds to give them that just out of the oven taste!

These cookies will likely not all look uniform when they come out of the oven! Some will spread evenly and some won’t and that’s okay. They look homemade and that’s the fun of it. I always tell my kids so much of what we do in life creatively, whether it be cooking or baking or artwork or projects, is about the process, not about the outcome. The outcome will taste delicious and that’s all that matters!
These cookies are rich! And very decadent and sweet. Also both gooey and a little crunchy. If you choose, you can sprinkle a little sea salt on top before baking to cut the sweet a bit. I think these are fun to bring to an event or to give away because they are dramatic and fun. And who doesn’t love a s’more?!
I hope you found this recipe for how to make s’mores cookies easy and helpful! If you choose to use store bought dough, these really come together in no time. XO
