Who doesn’t love the Goonies? Steve and I grew up in the 80s so it’s iconic for us. In thinking about couples costumes, we decided on Chunk and Sloth. Steve is a big guy, so he would be perfect for Sloth. And I knew I could recreate Chunk’s outfit easily. To be fair, the Sloth mask was hot and uncomfortable, so Steve took it off most of the night! It’s good for a prop, but probably not realistic to wear all night! Here’s how to create a Chunk and Sloth couples costume.
Chunk’s Look
For my costume, I wanted to try and find pieces rather than purchase a costume kit. I ended up finding these checkered pants, wig, red jacket, and winter hat while thrifting. I purchased the Hawaiian shirt and actually reword it in Hawaii!

Sloth’s Look
This costume is fairly easy to pull together. I had to purchase the “iconic” items, but Steve wore jeans and shoes he already had on hand. We also cut the sleeves of the Superman tee. You can find these items here.
