We have four showers in our home with glass doors. And we also have hard water. Our glass doors get cloudy and grimy and hard to clean. Even after cleaning them, they still always looked “dirty”. After doing a little research, I decided to try using a Magic Eraser, which I always keep on hand. Boom! It worked! Here’s how to deep clean shower glass doors.
Supplies Needed to Deep Clean Glass Shower Doors
- Magic Eraser
- All purpose cleaner (I’ll link the recipe for my homemade cleaner below)
- Microfiber cloth
How to Deep Clean Glass Shower Doors
- Wet the Magic Eraser and gently squeeze excess water out.
- Start scrubbing the glass with the Magic Eraser. You will instantly be able to see where you have used it or not.
- Spray all purpose cleaner on the glass doors and wipe down with a wet microfiber cloth.
- Repeat steps if necessary.

Homemade All Purpose Cleaner
Back in 2015, I started making my own cleaner for kitchen and bathroom. It’s super easy, effective, and you can make it with items you probably already have on hand. This is the solution I used on the glass after using the Magic Eraser.

I was getting asked on Instagram if I use this all purpose cleaning solution on my quartzite countertops in the kitchen. For the quartzite, I only use a mixture of diluted Dawn and water. I was told not to use anything harsh on them, so diluted Dawn works best. The same goes for my marble kitchen table. I put the all purpose cleaner is under every bathroom sink in the house though! And I did use the all purpose cleaner on my old granite countertops.
I keep my diluted Dawn + water in a pretty amber spray bottle next to my sink for easy access.
We love these over the door hooks for glass shower doors to store our towels while we are in the shower. Could also be perfect for pajamas, etc.
