A few weeks ago, I made ham and cheese sliders using Hawaiian rolls for a party we were hosting. They were easy and delicious. Recently, I decided to try the same method to make easy meatball sliders using Hawaiian rolls! Using all store bought ingredients, this recipe comes together so quickly! Semi-homemade is the way to go!
These are perfect for busy weeknights! Also, serve them up at your next get together! The trick here is to purchase store bought or frozen meatballs to make the process quick. Of course you can make your own meatballs (these are delicious), but I cheated and used store-bought. As with all meatball recipes I make, I also use pre-made marinara. You can also use any kind of cheese you like, I chose provolone.
Meatball Sliders Using Hawaiian Rolls
Ingredients:
- One pack Hawaiian rolls
- Meatballs (frozen or fresh work)
- Cheese (I used provolone)
- Marinara
- EVOO
- Italian seasoning
- Parmesan cheese
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Cut the top off of the Hawaiian rolls. Leave entire loaf intact. You want to end up with an entire top layer and bottom layer of rolls (not individually cut).
- Place bottom layer of rolls in a casserole dish.
- Spread marinara sauce along the entire bottom of the rolls.
- Place one meatball on each slider, using 12 meatballs. If you are using fresh (refrigerated) or frozen meatballs, you should first heat them in a pan on the stove to get them warmed through before assembling.
- Add a touch more marinara on top of each meatball.
- Layer cheese on top of meatballs.
- Place top layer of rolls on top of everything. Brush some EVOO on top of the rolls. Sprinkle Italian seasoning and parmesan cheese on top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 12-15 minutes. Remove foil and bake another 10 minutes or so, until tops are browned and cheese is melted.
- Cut into sliders and serve! My family loved these!
As mentioned earlier, you can use store bought or homemade ingredients, but the basic concept is the same! The Hawaiian rolls add that little touch of sweet with the savory meatballs.
We have a family of four, so this recipe is the perfect amount for us! I served with a side salad!
I love making recipes that everyone in the family will eat! A tall order with two growing teenagers in the house! Add these easy meatball sliders using Hawaiian rolls to your next meal plan. XO

Did you cook meatballs first? I used fresh but they didn’t cook through in time mentioned above.

I did heat mine up for a little bit in a pan before using them. I mentioned to do that with frozen meatballs, but I’ll also add fresh ones!! Sorry for the oversight!
