Talk about fall comfort food! This homemade apple crisp recipe is simple and delicious and comes together quickly. My mom has been making this for as long as I can remember and it’s the only recipe I make for my own family too! Your family will rave about it!
I always make this in the fall because apples are abundant and inexpensive. Aside from the apples, I guarantee most kitchens already have all of the ingredients to make this recipe! Mixing and matching apple varieties is best, but you can use whatever you have on hand. This time around, I used Granny Smith and Honey Crisp. My family said it was the best I’ve ever made, so I have to give credit to the apples here!
Start by peeling your apples and thinly slicing. My Granny Smith apples were small, so I ended up using about eight apples. I use a small paring knife to do this job.

This homemade apple crisp comes out of the oven hot and bubbly! It’s best to eat right away, but it does heat up well the next day!
You could always heat up for breakfast too! It does have apples and oats in it! Ha! Let me know if you tried and enjoyed this homemade apple crisp recipe. Happy fall! XO
