We are hosting Steve’s family for Thanksgiving again this year, so I starting working on the table setting yesterday. I decided to use all items that I already had on hand and as usual, wanted to keep it super simple. So, I decided to make y own place cards again this year. A little homemade touch feels special to me. This is how to create DIY watercolor place cards. Sticking any place card in a pinecone gives the table a natural feel! These are so easy!

Items Needed
I decided to use paper napkins that had orange, pink, and gold in them. Other than pinecones, I used watercolor paper, paints, and a small brush to create the cards. The names are written with a gold paint pen.

Creating the Watercolor Place Cards
All you have to do is dip your brush in your desired color of paints and start painting brushstrokes. This took less than five minutes. I love the look of the watercolors. It feels fall-like and soft. Once the entire page is done, you simply cut rectangles the size of place cards, write the names, and shove inside of a pinecone. Of course, I eyeballed this! For an added touch, I accordion folded the napkins and tied them up with a little piece of twine.

How do you feel about place cards? We aren’t formal people and these can certainly be moved around. I do like the idea of adding a personal touch though! This is about as simple as it gets for your next get together! You can find another DIY place card idea here. Now I need to get moving on grocery shopping and cleaning! Have a wonderful weekend! Â xo
