For the past two years, I have added a Valentine accessory to my front porch and I wanted to share because the concept is easy. I always have a simple winter wreath on the front door, so instead of changing that out, I’ve just added to it. Many times Valentine decor is lightweight or flimsy, so adding it to a substantial wreath helps keep it in place and keeps it from blowing around. Here is how to create easy valentine wreaths using a winter wreath.
Winter Wreath
As you can see above, I’ve used the same winter wreath during the months of January and February. It’s just a simple faux greenery wreath. You can find these almost anywhere during the Christmas season. I’ve linked up several winter wreath ideas here if you are in the market. Of course, it doesn’t have to be green! I’ve added some colorful wreaths below that could be used on their own or with an accessory on top as well. My exact wreath is old and not linkable.
Adding Valentine Accessories to Make Valentine Wreaths
To make a winter wreath feel festive for Valentine’s Day, I simply add an accessory right on top of it. With the XO, I just used the loop to hang it right on top. With the pink bow, I just clipped it right on to the wreath (it’s actually a hair bow). Here are some Valentine accessories that could be added right to a winter wreath.
The exact pink bow on my wreath can be found here.
As you can see, the possibilities are endless when you start thinking outside the box! I love the dimension and texture and color this combination brings to a front door!
I hope this post on creating Valentine wreaths using a winter wreath was helpful! The concept is simple, but a fun little pop on a front door is so inviting! XO
