How to Style a Minimal Fall Front Porch

It’s early November! That time of year when the gaudy Halloween porch decorations are taken down, our mums are dead, and I’ve tossed all the pumpkins. And I’m not quite ready for Christmas decorations yet. This leaves our porch looking lifeless, so I rummaged through my garage and decided to go with a minimal fall front porch look. Here’s how to style a minimal fall front porch. I’m kind of loving it!

Lantern + Candles

First, I ended up taping off and spray painting the roof of this lantern (see similar) that was collecting dust and cobwebs in my garage. A quick coat of spray paint brought it back to life! I decided to keep battery operated candles in the lantern for a nice glow at night. The lantern is from Homegoods!

Birch Sticks

The birch sticks are from a local nursery in Kansas City called Family Tree Nursery. Check your local spots…these are inexpensive and I use them often in my porch decor! Just lean them right against the house. If you don’t have access to a nursery, shop here!

Layered Rugs

I’m so grateful to whomever discovered that layering a rug on a rug looks really good! Ha! This rug is a Homegoods find and it’s actually NOT an outdoor rug. It was inexpensive and our porch is covered, so I will either try to wash it or just toss it when it starts to look worn. Be sure you look at scale when purchasing the under rug! You don’t want it to be too small! The Come in and Cozy Up rug is inexpensive as well!

Dried Florals

I’m a huge plant lady, so not having any live plants or seasonal plants on the porch is hard for me! Working with dried florals seemed like a good option for fall.

I ended up at Hobby Lobby in the dried floral section. There was a lot to choose from and everything was 50% off that day, so the bouquet I ended up with was only around $16! Neutrals won…I bought three different florals that coordinated together. You can usually find me taking photos in the aisles and sending pics to my mom and sister to get their opinion!

Using What you Have on Hand

Finding a vessel to put these in was hard! So I pulled out this old, hollowed log from the garage and the opening was the perfect size to stuff the florals in. This log is thrifted from many years ago! I love the natural element and the texture it adds to the space. A simple and neutral tassel adds more texture and interest and dimension! I just used a gold tack to keep it in place!

Minimal Wreath

Because I’m going for a minimal look here, this gold wreath adds a little pop of color, but I’m kind of loving the minimal and neutral and chill vibes of the porch! I usually wait until late November to start decorating for Christmas! How about you? XO
