To know me is to know that I LOVE true crime. This dates back to my childhood when I would watch Unsolved Mysteries and Forensic Files. I like to watch true crime documentaries and Dateline, but I also love to listen to true crime podcasts. With a degree and social work, I have always been interested in human psychology and behavior. I’m sure this is why this genre speaks to me. In the last year, I’ve listened to over 30 true crime podcasts that you should listen to right now!
You can usually find me with my headphones in throughout the day while I’m working at home. I listen while cleaning, doing laundry, mowing, walking, etc. It seems I can get through an 8-10 episode podcast in a short amount of time if I’m listening while multitasking. A win/win! I also love to listen to podcasts in the car, which means that all radio/music listening has pretty much gone out the window for me.
True Crime Podcasts
Below are three boards of ten podcasts each that I’ve listened to and enjoyed. I’ve like some more than others, of course, but I’ve included ones I think you will enjoy if you are a true crime junkie! These are in no particular order!
The true crime podcasts I like to listen to are stories told my the host/reporter in sequential order. I’m not huge on the podcasts where people are commenting or talking about different crimes. I’m most interested in the actual story, not others talking about their take on the stories if that makes sense!
Two of the podcasts included on the list center around cults, Heaven’s Gate and Dear Franklin Jones. They veer off a little from the true crime stories, but are still fascinating and addicting to listen to!
After looking at this list, comment below with your recommendations for what I should be listening to next! I think I am officially a true crime junkie at this point! I’ve linked the exact earbuds I use to listen to all these podcasts. They are comfortable and come with different sizes of ear buds in case your ears are small like mine. I love that they hold a charge for a long time, and they have a magnet at the ends so they don’t get tangled! And they are inexpensive and get excellent reviews!

I am also a true crime podcast junkie. I have listed to 16 of your 30. Accused, of course, holds a special place because all the murders take place here in Cincinnati. The only one I didn’t see on there which is my personal favorite is Someone Knows Something. I have listened to all of them but the BEST one is Season 3.
