Let’s dive right into my indoor and outdoor summer home tour! I’m first and foremost a devoted plant lady! Summer screams indoor and outdoor plants for me so you’ll find them in every space of our home!
Front Porch
First up is our covered front porch. Kimberly Queen ferns and potted hydrangeas keep our porch looking classic. I have also opted for no wreath the last few years. We replaced this door a few years ago, and I love it so much, I want to actually able to see it!
Back Patio
And to be honest, our summer home tour could end with this space because this is where we spend most of our time! We recently did a little mini-makeover on our covered back patio and we just love the space so much. It’s chic and cozy and inviting and comfortable. All the things I try to accomplish in the inside is working outside too. I love summer and being outside, so this just suits me and my family!
Dining Room
Moving along the inside potion or our summer home tour. Our dining room doesn’t get used much, but we have an open concept, so it definitely gets seen from all angles of the downstairs. I mostly just love to change up this vintage bar cart! It’s fun to change and junk it up. The rest of the space is just plants and more plants! It’s one of my favorite rooms in our house! My biggest tip for making your home look like summer is to bring the outside in! Cut flowers and stems and bush branches from your yard! Instant and free decor!
Breakfast Nook
Next up is our breakfast nook. We have a small round table and I used outdoor chairs to bring a cafe vibe into the space. It’s all very casual, which suits our family! We live here, kids live here, and we always want to feel that every space is very accessible and never stuffy. This space also houses my living plant wall! It’s just three shelves junked up with a bunch of plants. It makes my plant loving heart skip a beat! Those summery placemats are actually paper! And those peonies. They deserve a moment all to themselves!
Kitchen
Moving into our kitchen and nothing really changes much! We have a pink runner at the sink, so the kitchen always feels like summer to me! I always have fresh flowers or cut from the yard flowers at the island. It’s where I spend most of my indoor time, so I like to be surrounded by flowers (amongst all the dirty dishes and crumbs on the floor)!
Summer Bucket List
And our mudroom has a little narrow chalkboard wall that is home to our annual summer bucket list! I jazzed it up this year with tassels and balloons to surprise the kids. I love the whimsy and personality and bit of uniqueness it adds to our home.
Lastly, our living room is in the smack dab center of our home. We watch TV in here and generally just hang out. We have a finished basement, but we don’t seem to use it much in the summer, so if we are not outside, or my kids aren’t in my pantry (all day, everyday), we are in here! Our living room is casual and relaxed and we encourage putting your feet up!
That’s a wrap on our indoor and outdoor summer home tour! I hope you all enjoyed the tour and found something that inspired you! Have a wonderful summer! XO

Hi, Andrea! Thanks for sharing your home – it's so beautiful 🙂 Do you happen to remember where you got your fun placemats? I'd love to know. Thanks!

I love every inch of your home, Andrea! I kept thinking I could pick a favorite room to mention, but there's no way I ca choose. Well done! By the way, we love KC, too! In fact, my daughter is heading out there on Sunday; she's spending five weeks at the Kansas City Ballet's summer program. Happy Summer!

Great style! I have never gone back to a blog post more than once unless it is a ‘How To’ post. I have that same sofa table! Purchased mine at World Market. I really appreciate your love of plants. I have recently taken up the hobby myself. Lovely place.
We are looking into buying a new front door similar to yours. Could you tell me where you got yours?
Thanks!
What kind of material is your front door? I’m looking for something similar to replace an existing, having a difficult time finding it. Thanks
