We have a new framed typography print in our eating area that I wanted to share with you. I had been wanting something large scale and graphic for this space. Also something casual and something that represented us as a family. Our home is very open concept, so basically no walls and everything can be seen from every room. The eating area is at the center of it all.
This quote works for our family and for an eating space. I think these are words to live by, and a solid, simple reminder about good things in our life! When I started searching Etsy, I finally decided I loved this font the best. I purchased the download from Millicent James very inexpensively and had it to download almost immediately. You will find all kinds of cute things in the shop…typography t-shirts, phone cases, prints, etc.
I ended up printing this large scale size (40 x 30) from art.com. They were also so easy to work with, and I was able to get a discount using a coupon code. Their customer service was great to work with when I needed to get some questions answered. I had this printed for about $35.
I knew what size to order based on the large Ikea Ribba frame I was going to put it in. I did have to cut about an inch of the top and bottom of the print (every so carefully and with an exacto knife and the help of my husband), so it would fit snugly in the frame. Custom printing the exact size of the Ikea frame was proving to be way too expensive, so I just had to tweak it and it worked out perfectly! The frame was $24.99 and I removed the mat for a more dramatic effect.
I love, love, love the large scale, the graphic black/white, the simplicity, and the message. It’s a win win for this spot in the house! The download and print were about $40 total, and the frame was $25. Not bad for a large scale custom art piece!
And if you have any experience with trying to mount/hang an Ikea Ribba frame, you know they are not easy…especially this large scale size. Kuddos to my handy husband for figuring out a better way!
