I spotted a distressed window frame while thrifitng a few months back and knew it had to come home with me. After turning it into a DIY jewelry holder, it has new life! This is now something I use every single day for storage. It already looked really cool, so I just had to tweak a few things. Here’s how to make a DIY window frame jewelry holder.
Window Base
The original window frame that caught my eye was wonderfully chipped and distressed. It was already painted a pale grey/blue. And the size was perfect for upcycling in a new way.
Add Chicken Wire
I added chicken wire to the back of the frame using a staple gun. Simply measure a section of chicken wire large than your space, and add several staples to secure. Then add wire picture hanger to the back in order to hang it on the wall. You could also add felt pads to the back if you are worried about it damaging your wall.
Hang Jewelry
Your jewelry holder is done! Simply hang your hook earrings from the chicken wire. You could also use opened up paper clips to hang necklaces. I can’t fit everything I have , but I hang my most favorite pieces for convenience and a little color! It’s like an art piece for the space where you hang it.
I never realized how nice it would be to have my earrings organized as opposed to having them laying around mismatched in a jewelry box. It makes it so much easier to remember what you have and to easier to change it up!
I couldn’t resist how distressed and weathered the frame looked!  I like to think about the home this old piece used to be a part of and I feel lucky that it is now in mine. That’s the beauty and joy of thrifting! I hope you liked this DIY jewelry holder project! XO
