Summer Front Porch

Hi friends! It’s a sheer miracle that I’m sitting down and blogging! I miss it, and I have so much to share! I’m done teaching preschool for the year and my kids are out of school, so our days have slowed significantly. I’m hoping to knock many posts out this summer while sipping coffee on the patio (one of my many favorite places to be in the summer)! More to come in another post about our summer plans and bucket list. For now, I wanted to share our summer porch that was decked out for Memorial Day. I love a little touch of red, white, blue!

If you’ve been following along for a while, it’s no secret I love, love, love having a front porch. We love to porch rock, catch up on the day, watch the kids play, and have drinks with friends out here.

I decided to keep things pretty simple this year….hydrangeas in pots, hanging plants, and black/white striped pillows. No wreath this summer. I love our new door so much, I want to be able to see it.

And I’m pretty sure every home needs a large American flag to fly. 🙂

We keep our porch string lights up all year long. We think it feels festive and cozy and inviting. The rug on the porch used to be at our front door. It’s an indoor/outdoor rug and it has held up so great! These indoor/outdoor rugs are virtually indestructible!

These potted hydrangeas are everything! I will be doing this every year from now on! The urns are composite material, so they are not that heavy. I put a brick in the bottom of each urn and keep the plants in another pot and just set them inside.

The ceramic garden stool between the rockers is from Homegoods (several years ago) and the pillows are from Marshalls.

Hoping for many nights under the string lights with friends this summer! When we moved in, I had no idea how much we would use and love our porch. I think keeping it classic and simple suits it best! Happy summer! Cheers!
